The event offered a vibrant platform to showcase student projects and promote a culture of innovation and collaboration within the university. It highlighted the value of partnerships between students, mentors, and external stakeholders, while also demonstrating the university’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and technological advancement.
Among the showcased projects, several stood out for their innovative approach and potential impact. One such project was an Intelligent Beehive Monitoring System, integrating advanced sensors and machine learning algorithms to revolutionize beekeeping by enabling real-time monitoring and improved hive management. Another remarkable example was the Test Stand for Jet Engines, designed by an interdisciplinary team to facilitate precise testing and educational research.
Sustainability was a key theme of the event. A Micro-Hydro Turbine Prototype demonstrated a solution for generating electricity to power lighting in university facilities. Another environmentally conscious project, Recycling PET Bottles into 3D Printer Filament, addressed plastic waste while supporting additive manufacturing. Additionally, a Dairy Dessert Enriched with Pomegranate Seeds showcased how agri-food byproducts can be transformed into functional and nutritious products, aligning with global sustainability goals.
The event brought together more than 50 attendees, including students, faculty members, and industry representatives, who engaged directly with the project teams. The interactive nature of the event highlighted the ingenuity and determination of the students, while fostering connections and discussions about the future of their innovations.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of the students’ hard work and achievements. Certificates of participation were awarded by Rector Prof. Ivan Kralov, who personally engaged with each project, offering encouragement and insight. This formal recognition underscored the university’s active role in nurturing talent and fostering an ecosystem where innovation thrives.
By identifying and supporting exceptional participants, this event complements the goals of the EUt+ Student Startup Lab and underscores the Technical University of Sofia’s dedication to empowering young innovators. Through initiatives like this, the university continues to bridge the gap between education and industry, driving entrepreneurial growth and societal impact.
