Student Innovation Hub – IV National Youth Conference

From the 20th to the 22nd of June 2023 in the town of Smolyan. Sozopol was held the IV National Youth Conference with the participation of established scientists on the topic “Engineering Infrastructure and Competitive Business”. During the conference, the students from the Student Innovation Hub competition presented the progress and results of their developments. Eight teams of students from the Technical University of Sofia, whose innovative projects were funded by the Research Sector of the university, attracted the attention of the audience in the full conference hall of USOB Sozopol. Their projects focused on automation, smart technologies, clean energy, healthy eating and environmental protection.

The management of the Research Sector, including the Vice-Rector for Applied Research Assoc. Lydia Gulbova, Deputy Head of NIS Assoc. Nikolay Nikolov and the organizer of the competition Assoc. Vladislav Slavov had the difficult task of electing a representative of the university who will participate in the European Researchers’ Night in 2023. The decision was difficult as all students submitted outstanding projects and did excellent work in just 2-3 months from the start of the competition.

The projects selected to represent the Technical University of Sofia at the European Researchers’ Night were “Eco Uninterruptible Power to the Student” by the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technology Georgi Balev, and “Intelligent System for Monitoring, Collection and Processing of Data from Beehives” of the students Miroslav Nikolov and Tsvetoslav Iliev from the Faculty of Computer Systems and Technologies, as well as of Nikolina Vladimirova from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The event will be held at the end of September in Cartagena, Spain and will be organized by one of the partners of the Technical University in the network European University of Technology – Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
